Company History
![]()
Reflex Marine was founded in 1992 by Directors, Philip Strong and Roger Catherall in a response to direct experiences with transfer operations and industry concerns over risks (actual and perceived). They recognised that a lack of resource and focus was side-lining an important industry tool and the most important alternative to helicopter transfers.
The company set itself the ambitious goal of professionalising marine transfer activity across the industry. This would be achieved by carefully analysing risks and incidents and pursuing a highly rigorous process to the design and verification of transfer equipment, which included test programmes designed to simulate the most demanding operational scenarios. Emphasis was also put on developing extensive supporting packages for operators which included high quality operational and training materials.
Over the past decade the company has partnered with operators, lifting specialists and vessel operators to ensure the best possible outcomes and is very proud of the positive impact it has had on safety and extending operational capability, particularly in harsh weather areas. Its partnership with Seacor Marine, to provide high speed transfers (with its CrewZer Class vessels) has resulted in one of the safest and most efficient crew supply services in the industry.
