Helping You Move Injured Crew Safely

During a medical emergency you need to know that you can get your personnel the attention they need, quickly, safely and with the minimum of disruption.

The FROG-3 and FROG-6 have been designed to carry out medical emergency transfers and enable you to handle all types of casualty situations.

Walking Casualties

Many injuries, such as injured arms or hands, would prevent the use of a rope basket transfer, or would force the casualty to be transferred in a stretcher (with all the inherent risks that entails).

Also, generally sick or ailing personnel may not necessarily have the strength or agility to cope with a basket transfer. These factors make the FROG the ideal method for carrying out personnel transfer for the sick and injured.  The unique design of the FROG, with the inclusion of seats and seatbelts, means that the casualty can be safely transferred without having to rely on their swift footwork or the ability to retain grip and balance on an unstable basket.

Stretcher-bound Casualties

For the more serious medical emergencies the FROG-3 and FROG-6 have also been designed to carry a stretcher.

The FROGs offer the following protection to stretcher-bound casualties:

  • Steel framework and seat suspension
Protects the casualty from lateral impacts and minimises the chance of sustaining further harm due to heavy landings.
  • Buoyancy
Provides unique protection for stretcher-bound casualties from the risks associated with immersion.
  • Seating arrangement
Allows a paramedic to offer support during a transfer, which would be almost impossible during a rope basket transfer.

Converting to MedEvac (stretcher) Mode

The FROG-3 and FROG-6 can both be converted to accept a stretcher in less than 15 minutes by two drilled personnel.  Alternatively, some clients prefer to store the FROG already converted to 'stretcher mode' to allow instant access for a stretcher-bound casualty.  The unit's storage covers are designed to allow them to be used in both modes.

The FROG-6 conversion is faster than the FROG-3’s conversion, as the stretcher slides directly on to the bench seat where it can be secured.

Client Feedback

Due to plenty of training our crew has got the change out time to stretcher mode down to 5 mins
Saipem, Scarabeo 7 – FROG-3

There was an injury on one of our supply boats in bad weather, and we needed to bring him onboard to evacuate him by helo. The wind was 45 knots, and we were fortunate to have the FROG, because it was essentially as stable in that wind as it would have been in calm air.
